Memorial Weekend Ocala Trip

A few of us are heading up Friday morning May 22 and returning Monday May 25.  Feel free to come up whatever days you can because we'll be riding day and night all weekend.  For a change of pace, we will be camping in the Ocala Forest Campground on SR42.  The tent camping spots are $22/night per family.  If you want to save money and have more than one tent per spot, extra people are $3/day.  All tent spots have electricity and water and the campground has bathrooms, showers and a pool.  The guy said spots are selling out fast, so I would recommend calling ASAP.  Call (352) 669-3888 for reservations.  Web site is http://www.lakecountyfl.gov/enjoying_lake_county/accommodations/details.aspx?ListingID=230#map There should be quite a few buggies up there between our group and other people that always head up for the holiday weekend.  Olsen's VW of Tampa is staying at the same campground and they will not only be riding, but selling parts at camp! 

Tarpon Springs VW Cruise-In

The next VW Cruise-In on the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks will be Saturday May 30th from 6pm until about 9.  This is a fun show that usually attracts about 70 air-cooled VW's of all types.  They typically have dinner specials at one of the many restaurants located on the sponge docks.  There is plenty of shopping or sight-seeing as well so bring the family!
